I was offered $25,500 for my 2013 Toyota Tacoma 4dr TRD Sport Prerunner 2wd with 9000 miles on it, is this a decent offer?

I bought the truck new in Nov of 2012 for $26,100 + tax and title

Possibly trading the truck in on new Accord Sport 6spd, because of new job and a longer commute.

    Any feedback is helpful.

It sure sounds good to me if a car dealer is offering close to what you paid 2 years ago. Or you got an extremely good deal then (or maybe both).

Unless they are jacking you over on the price of the accord to make up for it. Like charging close to sticker price or more.

They usually don't offer anywhere close to what they think they can re-sell it for.

    sell private.
Might take longer but you could easily get $28-$29K IMO
at least here in FL. Hell I paid $30,000 for my used 2012 about 8 months ago with trail pinstriping all down the sides.

    Just my $.02

Seems a little low to me. Check kbb.com and nadaguides.com. They'll give you a better idea. Also, take it to Carmax and see what they offer you.

Though, like others have said, you'll get more if you sell it yourself.

I just sold my 2010, PreRunner, DC, Short Bed, V6 to the Max and got $20,000. Truck had 57K miles. I was happy with that figure. Op $5K more than that, for three years newer isn't bad at all.

Idk about Ohio, but if that was TX you should sell. You can get a brand new 2014 just like yours except 4X4 for under 30K right now. And the price will most likely drop even more in a couple months when the 2015's come out. Strike while the iron is hot buddy!

As others have stated watch the price on the Accord. You should be able to get a deal on it. Also, being a former 8th gen Accord sedan owner with the 2.4 you may regret it. The fuel mileage isn't all that great unless you are strictly on the highway and the Accord weighs so much it lacks some get up and go. The six speed may help this out a little but make sure to thoroughly test drive it first.

Personally, I like the new Accord. It is much better than the 8th gen in many ways even though they cheapened up the suspension. I would try to get into a Camry V6. The fuel mileage of both V6 motors by Honda and Toyota have comparable gas mileage to their 4 banger counterparts but offer much more power. The nod goes to the Toyota six only because it runs a timing chain.

My wife has a 2013 Accord Sport and we love it. I prefer it over the 2011 Camry we had. The Camry rode like a big ol' Lincoln but it felt clumsy. We got 30+ mpg on our 14 hour trip to Florida. That was running 80 to 85 the whole way. Coming back from inlaws Saturday (90% highway) averaged over 37 mpg.

If you have a CarMax near you, take it there and see what they will give for it? I sold both a 2013 Subaru WRX to them and a 2010 PreRunner Double Cab, SR5 and was REALLY happy with what they offered me.

Even better, no meeting up in random or sketchy locations with potential buyers. Both scenarios, I was in and out of there in 25 min tops, from appraisal to check in hand. As a bonus, take care of all the DMV for you, absolutely the most painless way to unload a vehicle. I don't even know why people bother selling themselves anymore.

Just traded my 2012 SR5 4x4 Texas Edition with JBL/Nav a couple weeks ago. Got $27,500 for it. $25,500 sounds decent for a pre-runner.

Trade in values are excellent for Taco's.

Bought my 2004/78K in 2009 for $13k from a dealer that was going bust, and sold it in 2013/130k for $11,500 in trade value. Lots of moving parts in that deal between financing and cash, though. They put it on their lot for every bit of $15,999 though and gosh bwess 'em if they got anywhere near it :)

In some states (like mine), the trade value deducts sales tax on the new vehicle, which can otherwise be substantial.

    Just a consideration.

Just traded in my 2012 SR5 DC 4x4 yesterday for $25,000. 40,000 miles. I bought it for $27,600 two years ago. Sounds like they are offering you a good amount for your Prerunner.

Stay away from Honda's if your driving on the highway. The paint chips very easy and all the way to metal. You will have rust spots. My wife had one and a friend has a 2013 and chips all over the front. Stay with Toyota, if it's a Honda or Toyota.

Just went to check my truck value. Was curious cuz planning on trading for 2015.

Got my used 2013 4x2 prerunner sr5. DCSB. 10k miles on it a month ago. Bought it for $30k. They offered me $25,600 for it. I'm sure it'll be much lower when the 2015s come out...

Good to know everyone's amount is about the same. Thought I was getting ripped off. But hey go for it, wish I got the TRD OR instead.

Did you look into the tax laws before you sold it? Taking less for trade and not paying sales tax on the full value of a new vehicle might've been the better deal in the long run. I only paid taxes on about $8,000 of a $35,000 car a couple weeks ago thanks to my trade in value.

I recommend a darker color that hides the rust spots, and stay vigilant with touch-up.

Hate to say it but I kind of agree with this comment. My 2008 Fit had more spots missing paint in 3 years than my '96 Civic had in twelve - and the Civic spent much of its life on gravel roads.

It's hard to pass up those engines though. Smoother than a Mark XII plasma-infused warp core.

Daggum nice! That truck literally owed you nothing

I wish it worked that way here. In michigan, take the sale price, add the mich SOS doc fee (tax), then take that amount and add sales tax (tax on tax!), then add title/reg (fee based on sale price, tax on tax on tax!!), and subtract trade-in from that. Yuk.

I was just offered $3700 for my 03 Taco, 99000 miles, 2wd, reg cab, auto, 2.4L, to trade it on a 2014 4x4 reg cab Taco. I thought my old truck was worth more,,,,

What say the collective? Hold out for more?
