Just got on my local classifieds and found this ad:

"I bought a 2008 Tacoma that has a 6" Procomp suspension lift & would like to trade for a 3" lift."

I'd love a 6" lift, think this would be a good trade?

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my All-Pro setup but I think I'd like it better to be 3" taller...

Just wondering any issues or things I should be aware of

    I have a DB???

The person that wants to trade? Does he have a 2wd? If he has a 4x4 he can't trade. His rear crossmember is cut. He would need to weld the crossmember.

But if it's a 2wd then go for it!

I was under the impression that the crossmember needed to be cut as well with a 6" lift...Is this not the case? If not I might do the 6" kit, I would never cut the frame of my brand new 30k+ truck, but thats me :D

if 4wd cross member will need to be cut

to OP, honestly as long as the kit is in good condition there would be no real problem swapping for YOUR truck... now HIS truck on the other hand (if 4wd) would be another story

Technically, couldn't they cut my crossmember off and weld it onto his truck? How long would he last if nobody told him about his crossmember? hehe

so your gonna have a truck with the cross member cut out of it? thats why i stayed away from those lifts when i first built my truck. My lift can go bigger than those lifts if i really wanted to crank everything back up. good luck with that though

You could only swapped cut crossmember pieces if both cuts were the same size.. 06lttaco.. the kits come with new drop bracket cross members

crossmember should be cut on the 6" lift. unless he has the crossmember and want to weld it back
