It's 0% provided everything goes perfectly. First piece of lost mail or hiccup in job status and *bing* - the fine print kicks in, and it's surely astronomical.

Same as cash is not same as cash. Also, that's 72 months making payments, which means 72 months of living with a constricted budget. You don't get that time back.

Financing and using debt is good when done right, but using debt on a depreciating asset for THAT long is flirting with danger.

    Edit: To expand a little:

To my mind, it's more about good decision making. There's no way in hell anyone should consider a 72 month car note with interest, so simply removing the interest doesn't make it ok in my book. I consider it more akin with "getting lucky" or "stealing cheese from the mousetrap" than a good financial decision. I think it will just get people comfortable with the idea of biting off more than they can chew.

If you can't pay it off in 48 months or less, it better be a house, or something you can build a house on. I financed the entire value of my Tacoma on a 60 month note because it had the best interest rate, but I did the math myself and am paying a 36 month schedule. My credit union has no shenanigans like fees for early loan payoff. By 2012, she'll be paid off.

I would have bought one but 1. They were out of 09 I wanted. 2. Wanted to park in garage and Dodge too big.
Very nice ride and nice interior.
Try 2010 F150 FX4 or King Ranch. Someday I will have one!
