Why not keep the Taco and get yourself a weekend toy?

I don't know jack about the new stuff, but my '86 Omni GLH was one of the most fun cars I've ever owned.

The scars on my body from motorcycle mishaps would argue against you against that. I don’t have a nipple anymore!

Ok i know you said hatch, but. M240I x drive 6 speed manual can be had for not bad used with low miles. But you have the bmw reliability question. Corolla GR hatch is coming out soon I'm pretty sure. 300+ hp crank AWD 6 speed is what I have seen.
Edit: car and driver says the 3 cylinder turbo from Yaris will be put in.

i was thinking the same. STI still uses the EJ’s, which for some reason Subaru can’t seem to figure out how to stop them from blowing.

    My friend’s 18 (????) STI went at 35k. 100% stock

We traded the cross trek in for our Tacoma after we had our first kid to get a little more cargo space with a bed and tonneau.

I just about pulled the trigger on trading in my 19 TRDOR for a 19ish outback a few weeks ago. I’d have been able to get out of a loan, and strongly thought about it, but we have a 17 forester and the outback wouldn’t have been much of a size improvement to that. Ultimately decided to keep the truck and actually ordered a camper shell to boost the “dry” storage in the truck.

Audi Q8 or SQ8. I had one for about six months before I finally decided that I really still wanted a truck. Fast, handles well and tows more than the Tacoma with way less effort.

Trade in values are high, but it can be challenging to get a good deal, and of course most decent cars are in high demand right now as well.

I would second the recommendation for a second fun car. Get a Miata--you'll thank me later.

I went from fast German cars to a Taco. (- had a Landcruiser on the side, though). With the condition of roads and the (unfortunate) declining German car reliability; I'll be in the Taco for a while to come...

I do have my old (OLD - non BMW) mini cooper for go-kart like fun though. Repeatedly voted (by auto journalists) the most fun car to drive (ever) - (Second being a Mclaren F1). It makes you laugh out loud going around a track... 4 speed manual with the 'massive' 1,275cc cooper sport engine...
it is safe as it will struggle to reach 100mph - but boy - it will turn a corner! 2" travel on the rubber grommet suspension! It IS a street legal go-kart...

I've done race car already so offroading is next. I sold my 2008 mazdaspeed 3 which was 430whp at the time and the car only weighed 3,000 lbs, do the math. It was a fwd car so traction in lower gears was an issue and you had to grip the wheel firmly when launching. I couldn't go WOT until the top of 3rd gear and it would still spin. Car was too much fun, sold before getting arrested.

My 2011 MS3 would have mad steering side to side if WOT from a stop. Was fun car though. I think computer lowered torque in first few gears .

    Mine was bone stock

Couldnt imagine if it had 430 hp !!
