My 2011 MS3 would have mad steering side to side if WOT from a stop. Was fun car though. I think computer lowered torque in first few gears .

    Mine was bone stock

Couldnt imagine if it had 430 hp !!

It was a hand full but I had upgraded engine mounts which helped with the torque steering. I also had a few chasis braces underneath. I was tuned using the Cobb Access port which removes the lower gear nannies.

It was the ultimate sleeper. The tuner kids knew what it was but the muscle car guys had no clue. It was also very agile and schooled just about everything at the TOD. FB_IMG_1540896439034.jpg FB_IMG_1558228918324.jpg

I know turbo AWD is all the rage now but nothing beats the feeling of running a built normally aspirated Honda engine and shifting at 10,000 rpm. I miss my ITR but I don’t miss the paranoia of owning a theft and cop magnet.
12.2 second quarter miles and awesome in the canyons.
I say keep the Tacoma and build a cheap sporty Honda hatchback.

yeah, it sucked. The irony was that he went to the focus ST after that. It was lemon lawed. Lol. Most reliable car he has had has been his supercharged FRS he uses for autocross

I am still pushing this 25 year old Z3 through the corners - bought it new during my last tour in Germany.

I've had my Miata for 20 years now. In that same time frame I've had a 91, 99, 04 and 16 Toyota truck.

There's really no reason not to have a sports car AND a truck.

Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
LOL! I got my Taco when my daughter pilfered my manual Crosstrek.

Would love to take an STi for a spin. But a 52 year old man would look pretty desperate in something like that.

    Keep the truck.

Buy a 4th gen Miata with manual transmission.

Best of both worlds. Sporty little RWD rollerskate for fun, and truck when you need to haul a bunch of sht.

VWs are waaay more refined than STI. You will love it on long drives. The STI probably not so much. GTI is one of Top Gear best cars ever. Not the American top gear. That show is lame

Another vote for keeping the truck and getting a Miata. My pick would be the 3rd gen because they're cheap(ish) right now, stupid reliable, you can get one with heated seats, and it's the roomiest of the 4 generations. They're fairly drivable in cold temps with the top down and heat cranked up.

My Tacoma is a manual and I grew tired of driving it in rush hour traffic, so I picked up an automatic 1st gen Miata (marital compromise was also involved). It's still fun, but the 1st gen automatics are crude beasts and I would recommend the 3rd or 4th gen if automatics are your thing. The 3rd and 4th gen automatics are actually quite nice......

It's funny, over the years, I have gone back and forth with high performance cars and 4x4's. It's like a cycle, but I have always owned both. Lately, I have been considering dumping my 911 and every time I do, I drive it, and it convinces me not to. I love that car, but honestly, it is more likely to get me in trouble than anything else. The sensible thing is to move it.

Ah... I’ve been down this road too many times

got rid of a brz, got into a manual 2nd gen Tacoma

got rid of the Tacoma, into a supercharged brz

got rid of the supercharged brz into a 6speed manual Dodge 2500 5.9 turbo diesel

got rid of the 2500 and back into an auto 3rd gen Tacoma

got rid of auto Tacoma and into a 2020 civic si

Got rid of civic si into a manual Tacoma....

the moral of the story? Just buy a manual 3rd gen Tacoma
    :anonymous:
and have real fun on your motorcycle. I don’t have the space for a taco, a car, & a bike, otherwise I’d just do that.

After ripping around my Yamaha MT-09 cars weren’t as fun for me anymore either, unless I was drifting. But I refuse to get back into the drifting scene

My rocket ride was a 2009 Corvette with the LS3 engine (436HP). The acceleration on that car was intense to say the least which made if really fun to drive. It's one of those cars that you had better have pointed in a safe direction when you leaned on the skinny pedal.

Now I do not consider myself one of those "the world is coming to an end soon" guys, but I do think that we are in a period where social unrest is almost the norm and could spiral out of control given the right circumstances. I started to think that if we had to bug out and bug out quickly, the Corvette would pretty much be worthless as it cannot carry anything. I opted for the 4WD Taco so that if we do have to get out of suburbia quickly, I can load it up (along with my FJ Cruiser) and head for my remote cabin!

PS: I guess this does kind of make me one of those "the world is coming to an end soon" guys! :)

I gotta agree also. Although I'm only 26 years of age, I've never felt so much tension in this country as of lately. Not all people but a good majority have lost respect for one another. It feels like we are all in a simulation lol.

The Hyundai Santa Cruze is sporty. This would be my choice for a new vehicle that isn't a truck. I might consider another vehicle in that segment, but the Hyundai would probably offer the most value for the money.

Traded in my 2020 WRX MT for a 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 Auto.... I miss driving my WRX for sure. So I’m looking into picking up a 02-07 WRX. Haha.
