Eco boost is a joke, the owner of the ranch I work on bought 3 f450 his is a King Ranch, mine is just the lariat, motor is a beast towing.Although the computer holds it back at times. He bought an eco boost for mileage and comfort and he only got comfort for driving back and forth to the ranch from Cali the 450 empty gets better mileage!!He mostly just uses his jet to get back and forth though!!

What kind of rear end problems did yours have, I thought Ford had a pretty solid trans in the half ton, sorry you had all kind of problems with yours, and like I've said before "I Loved my Tacoma". If it's big enough for your family I highly recommend it.

I'm not saying that Ford isn't a great product, I think they have some great advancements but it seems only after their products were seen as failing gas-guzzlers. The turbo is a late idea, and while I don't know much about the EcoBoost, I do know that Toyota is one of the last few companies that has the Body on Frame designs. (Ugh, run-on)

    Stick to your roots.

The two vehicles I narrowed my choice down to were the Taco and the F-150 XLT 4x4 Quad Cab with Ecoboost (which is the main reason to buy that truck). One of the factors that influenced my decision is that the comparably equipped F-150 cost about $8,000 more, yet in 3-4 years they would have been worth the same amount of money...

Rear end had a clunk when going into revers...rear seal blew out scorched the bearings and pinion ...trans problem hard shifting it would slam into gear. Hard enough that it would make u think u broke a drive shaft.. rear end of the truck shacking at highway speed. Speakers popping all the time in the winter 4x4 would clunk loudly when engaging it ..even in neutral. .even with the problems I liked the truck. . I just knew I wouldn't be keeping it past warranty so I unloaded it while it was still worth something.. best of luck

I was going to trade my 05 trd 4x4 tacoma for an fx4 but decided to keep it cause its payed off and we already have two f350's and didnt need another full size truck. My smaller tacoma will be my go to vehicle for running around the pasture/land too. We typically drive fords and nice choice on f150
