A few OE parts from fancy trucks
It's a shell and pea game, and the only hope you have of winning is to take two of the shells off the table, a trade and financing.

You gave them one shell when you told them your payment goal. The other, your trade, you still controlled.

It's nice you were persistent by not answering the phone, but they just kept calling till they found out right where that shell was. So if you could actually untangle all the numbers, you'd find you overpaid for the truck.

Not really being critical. Many folks shop the exact same way. But consider a different approach the next buy cycle.

Hoping your Colorado works out to be a fine ride for you. :fingerscrossed:

I generally agree....when you take the trade out of the negotiation, the leverage shifts to the buyer. As a buyer, invoice, dealer holdback and manufacturer incentives all work in your favor because there is only one shell on the table, yours.

I’m trying to get picked up by Bergen. But I’ve got tons of parts. From suspension to add ons. I’m off Friday’s and Saturday’s so if one day you want to come by and check out all the stuff I’ve got you’re more than welcome

Maybe down the line right now it’s bone stock and I don’t want to ruin it lol but if I decide to buy it out of the lease I’ll start out with different tires for sure and a lift and taking all the lower plastic off that I’m already nervous about being ripped off of the little trail I drive down for hunting

So just to make sure I am following this; without knowing the payment, OP must have lost by separately negotiating the trade, getting the lease payment to what he wanted to pay, and he leased instead of purchasing a truck that everyone thinks will fall apart when out of warranty anyway?

    Tough crowd . . .

I just put this at the end of my posts that I know are going to cause an uproar: :crapstorm:

Off to a great start with the colorado... my wipers have been messing up so I brought it to the dealer and today they were replacing the motor and module for it and the problem was still happening. He then stated that something had chewed thru my wires... and that’s not covered under warranty FML!

This is not accurate anymore after the automotive bailout and them going broke debacle manufacturers payouts for volume decreased significantly. The backdoor profits they make now are more from the lenders than manufacturers.

Didn’t even think to ask. It was only $170 so I paid it.
