I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
I am on the same boat as bigcoffinhunter
I have less miles but I had 0 Services done with the exception of TSB for suspension and that was only because my wife jumped the truck and I wanted Offroad suspension for free. :D so I count this as the mod rather then fix. :p
This is my first car ever that had went through warranty period with out any repairs, which is amazing since I did not think such cars existed...
EDIT: BTW I owned Ford before and I started ownership by needing to fix suspension week after the purchase. In never got fully fixed, to the day it was sitting on the tow truck on its way to the junkyard because all the break lines rusted through, same for tranny lines, and there was a range of extra problems F....k Ford POS.
More EDIT: Also I dotn think I am cut out for Ford owner. My friend is he buys them spends money on repairs and buys another one. His Windstar went through 4 trannies before was sold for $1k.

What i want to know is how the hell did the first big production car company go to crap? Fuck i think a Model T is more reliable than a brand new f150. Buahaha Ford Is a scam. "Hey ill give it to u half broken and wen it breaks you can come back in and well fix it for a cost"

Well.....They ARE kinda happy that Consumer reports has test 46 of their vehicle, and found their reliability has now moved up to "Average"......I read that out of 200 vehicles tested, they average about 4 problems per vehicle.......

Funny that everyone is comparing apples to oranges here......tacoma fully loaded $31,000
    ford "king ranch" edition $45,000+
are you guys serious? if i were going to pay 45+ for a damn truck, for starters it wouldn't be a 1/2 ton....second it wouldn't be a gasoline engine.....and lastly and most importantly it sure as the hell wouldnt be a Ford due to the quality of build.
The american trucks are all relative in price to quality ratio...cheapest to most expensive dodge, ford, chevy. this is shown even in resale value and gas mileage.

and as it has been stated before OP moved from a mid-size to a full size comparison should end there.

    Fackin okies really dig'em
    Fix or repair daily
    Fucked on race day
    found on road dead
    facked over rebuilt dodge

    driver return on foot
    dumb retards own fords
    driver reaps own foolishness

sorry little tangent there! either way OP GL with your truck I hope YOU enjoy it. Doesn't matter what we all think anyways really.

I would take a Tacoma over a ranger, but I'd take a F-150 over a Tundra any day.

not sure he is not mechanically inclined, He thinks Jiffy lube provides excellent:D service but he did mention twice that they had to tear his engine for something.
I wish people were forced to repair their junk. It would quickly reduce number of Ford owners. Once you see plastic links in suspension you don't want to buy that car again :)
Another piece is parts quality. Having New Part already not working is one of those last straws that can turn man into raging beast. Imagine spending 4 hours to tear down the engine just to find your brand new part is actually crap

Well then that's your opinion. At least their seats don't stain when you get water on them...

Ford makes a decent truck, but they don't have the reliability of a Toyota, NO WAY.

And = If you ever want to trade in the Ford get ready to be plowed from behind.

I bought a brand new Tacoma 2 years ago, and traded it in for more then I owed and I didn't put a dime down on it with a 72mo buy!

If it were a Ford, I wouldve been upside down for 4 years.

Armor: ARB Bull Bar, Rocktek rear bumper and custom rock sliders. Other: Rigid Industries LED Light Bar, Platinum DieHard Battery, BlueSea Fuse Block, rear lights, bed lights, leds inside.
I have to confess that I actually liked the new Fords, so when I took my 2006 Tacoma in for service (this was due to some Bitch who rear ended me, lucky for me.....I got a Rocktek Rear Bumper out of it) I got a 2009 F150 rental. I paid out of pocket $50 for 3 days. I must say that the ride was crap and I was pissed that I had to actually pay for it! My back hurt the whole time I was in that thing and by the end of the first day I hated the truck so much I refused to drive it (drove my 93 Toyota Pick up instead). I'm just glad I actually got to test drive one on and off for 3 days before buying anything Ford. I can honestly say that Fords are not better than our Tacomas! I will also throw in this little tid bit, my wife (before she was my wife) had a 2002 Ford Mustang and that thing was constantly in the shop. Needless to say I convinced her to trade it in for a 2004 Tacoma and the rest is history (she is now a loyal Toyota convert, she now drives a Lexus RX).

To the OP good luck with Ford, hope the seats work out for you. :D
