Good luck. I always had a soft spot for Rams. Never owned one, and don't plan on it. But I think they look cool.

Yeah, but Tacoma World 3rd Gen area should be a safe space where we don't have to hear about people trading out to icky F150s, Rams, or Silverados. Why? Cause it hurts, hurts so bad, that's why. I'm going to go sob in the shower now, I feel dirty.

Just kidding OP enjoy the new ride.

eh... most of those whiners are the same people who talk about how bad the 3rd gen forum is, on 2nd and 1st gen forums. 90% of the problem is coming from 1st and 2nd gen owners.

Good bye and good luck! Nothing wrong with trading. I do every three years. Life is too short to drive the same vehicle for too long.

So if one has folks they chat with have gotten to know through TW, does that mean they must leave them as well?

I agree it's not fair to compare a full size with the mid size, but the OP said he didn't like the power, so he traded for the bigger Ram, that should cure the power hunt. Now the reason for him to stick around is so we can all hear what else was gained or lost in the trade.

Did you at least get a decent trade-in value?

Cmon man this is a troll, right? Value is subjective and no one is going to get on here and say they got a bad deal and lost money to trade into a more expensive truck.

I went the other way and traded my 2012 Ram 1500 Sport for the '17 Tacoma. The RAM only had about 25k miles on her and it was one of the worst vehicles I ever owned. I like the Tacoma WAY better. It feels much more solidly built. I had many issues with the RAM, but the biggest was the transmission failed at 25k miles. That was the last straw.

I did like the look, sound, and power of the RAM, but that is it. I'd never buy another. You will like the RAM initially for it being everything the Tacoma is not, but the longer you have it, the more you'll come to realize what a superior product the Tacoma is in the categories that really count. It just sucks that by the time you realize that, the RAM will have depreciated so much you'll have to hang onto it until it's paid off.

It's no guarantee that yours will suck as much as mine did, but based on my experience, that was a bad trade.

I hear this all the time. I'm going to try out the 2nd gen forum and pretend I don't have a 2016. Will report back. ;)

Don't get me wrong. I love my 2016. But sometimes I wish I would have gotten an older one. I'd feel better about hacking it apart. I still don't think I have the minerals to bob mine.

I'll try the first gen and see how it goes.

I will save you some time. Same people over there complaining about the 3rd gen forums. Are the ones that usually start the crap over here.

Not sure why some are riled up over someone else's decision, needs and money. Some act as though others decision (on a forum) effects them.

Agree, good luck. I had a RAM for 1 year, after 6 dealer trips i traded it for my 3rd gen. Ram had tons of power but quality was lacking.
