I had a bad feeling about the 14 I bought with 18K miles Only one FOB, no Manuals and I found a spot on the tailgate where it looks like it was down and hit something.

Needless to say I found a 15 TRD Sport in White online at the Dealer that had just come in as was not PDI yet. I went up there and offered $4500 more with running boards, tint, Year of ding repair and free oil changes, All in cost me $30,475 OTD Higher than I would have paid if i had not bought the 14 but it's only money and it is
Worth it to me. We installed the keyed Pop N Lock today. I feel MUCH better about buying this truck new. Love the Intune App as well, How crazy am I?

    :p;) Running boards ordered.....

I guess according to me "needless to say to myself. "Get out of this truck you don't feel right about, and get a new damn truck Stop being so cheap"

I know I don't want a 16 the first year out so the 15 new was the best option. I want to see how the 16s work out since they will be practically new everything.

When did you develop this "bad feeling" on the '14, and what was that bad feeling? Seems odd. The '15 used also? If you're able to do this financially and you're happier than good for you and hope you continue to enjoy the new truck.

30 and change sounds like a nice deal, I was looking at a 15 Sport the other day, ex. cab. List was just a tad under 34. Nice truck.

When the deal was done they gave me ONE key FOB, (Strike One) I ordered another and had them program it. When I got the truck home I noticed there was no Glove box manual Set on a 14! (Strike two) I started to get a bad feeling....Then I noticed the top of the tailgate was damaged.(Strike Three) I did not think to look at the truck closely as I had been to the lot a couple times before and sat in it Never checked the bed rail for damage.

They gave me (or over allowed)$2500 more on my trade than CarMax offered and all the "books". So that was great as I was selling it privately for $100 less than they allowed..

That generous trade kind of sold me on the 14. Last night I was thinking about all the stuff missing and thought the previous owner just didn't care about it.

It was eating at me, so I checked their website for new stock and they had a new white Sport "available" Monday. I sent an email this morning and told them i wanted the new white one and had a number in mind with the options. I said "tell me what yours is" I was ready to offer $5000 but they spoke first and asked for $4500 with the additions I wanted, (Likely still $1000 over what I would have paid had I not been in a weak position.) But it is what it is. I wanted the 15, they got it prepped, filled it up, gave me a due Bill for the options ordered, and I was on my way.

I ended up paying $26975 OTD for the 14, and $30,475 OTD for the 15 plus the additions and options I wanted. Not great but not too bad either. All cash deal. The 15 was clearly worth $4500 more to me at 0 miles with the options I wanted. The peace of mind was worth it.

I sold my 08 Corvette a few weeks ago for $3000 more than I paid for it last year So sometimes I make money and sometimes pay too much. It all evens out.

KEY FOB...They only gave me one with the 14. A 14 should have two keyless entry FOBS, I paid $140 to have another bought and programmed ( I Kept it for the new truck,) I even ordered a new rail for the tailgate but cancelled it when i decided to dump it for a 15.

I am sure you are not the only one who would have kept the 14. But those things that I could have replaced spoke to more about the previous owner. Who loses a Key FOB and their manuals on a one 1 year old vehicle and why trade it with damage? It just didn't sit right and I had the money to make it right in my crazy little head. I have spent more than $4500 on a watch! Surely I could pay that for peace of mind. And yet I never buy Extended Warranties.

Why settle, get the truck that you really want. We all have paid more than we wanted a time or two. What counts is that you feel more secure with the 15 and it fill yours needs and wants. Life is short, drive what makes you happy. Good on you!

P.S. Thank you for your service!

Thank You sir. and I agree. If someone can afford something, don't settle, or try to go cheap. It will bite a few times. more painful than not having the extra cash.
