So much good Intel. I just picked up my access cab in cement a week ago, I'm going to head over to get the ball rolling in a few.
    Thanks for the tips.

    Maria was awesome.
They are slammed with work from this site, she has about 4-7 quotes per day for Tacoma caps.
Question, what rack tracks are you guys using and how long?
I would like more of a flat rack, are there any options out there for that. Not really fond of yackima style towers and bars.

Did any one go with the external floods?
Might be adding that and a shelf across the top of the fold down window and from the box to front on the left side.
    Thanks, Sunny.

I am still working with Maria designing mine, but like the idea of external lights.

If you get Yakima tracks it uses easy to find hardware. I've got texture painted aluminum bars from home depot mounted with c-clamps on the tracks on my camper. Very low profile.

What rack are you using, and are you using the yak towers, or will another tower/ upright fit in the yak track?

I don't use any towers with my tracks. All you need is hardware that fits the bolt holes within the tracks.

Can you share a picture, I'm not picking up what you're laying down.
So you are using a Yakima track setup.
But with hardware other than Yakima uprights to mount your rack?
    What rack are running?
What hardware are you using to mount Said rack?
You have a 4wheel pop up camper, correct?
I really thought I'd buy another one, spent most of my adult life camping in my old one.
Decided to go more compact with the tradesman.

Yes I have Yakima tracks on my FWC. Not running a rack. I mount a shower tube up top.
Hardware are stainless rigid conduit straps with metric screws for the mounts in the track system.
Cross members are EMT conduit painted with a texture paint.
The rubber below the EMT is to help keep it in place. Without the rubber there is a gap. I tried a smaller conduit strap and it wasn't flush with the track.
I think the Tradesman style is a great option and I've had thoughts of downsizing.

I didn’t add either but may go back and get the shelf added. What flood options are they offering? I ordered a kit from @mattgecko to add light strips inside the topper and along the back and side hatches. Will hopefully get those wired up in a few weeks.

What other options are they offering? I think they keep learning new ways to improve these setups.

I finally just spent my first night in the shell last night. Warm and cozy!

Maria showed me one of the mil trailer builds, it had Baja designs squadron sports on it, for 25. Per light to install.
The shelf added 120.ish per shelf.

Hey Steve, how long is your yak tracks and what rack are you thinking of running to work with the vent?
I would like to keep it tight to the roof.

I also added a 1 inch lip to the top of the cabinet in side the the bed area.

That’s pretty cool on the lights and shelf. These tops are a little dangerous because you can always keep adding more options to them! After having spent two nights with this setup I can definitely say a shelf would be nice above the window and the cabinet is really awesome for all our cookware. And I will also say that I like the security screens more than I expected because I can leave the windows open and walk away without worry. And with the new cutouts they do around the window they are so much easier to use.

I got the 60” Yakima tracks. I’m planning on running another prinsu on the top. The bars won’t be above the vent but I figure I can space them around it and I’m most likely just going to be using the sides of the rack to mount a solar shower and awning. So if the vent pokes through the rack in the middle it shouldn’t be a big deal.

I‘ll be living out of that thing for the next 5 months and wanted a bit of extra room. I should be able to sit and hang out inside. It isn‘t too big, I guess I found a nice compromise with it‘s size.

It‘s 31inches tall from the bedrail. Once the roof rack is mounted it won‘t appear that tall anymore I think.

Not sure yet. I had a lot of ideas and plans for the interior but my friend let me down and I can‘t stay/work at his place. Once I found a place to do some work I‘m just going to da a simple buildout.

    That's a beauty..
Yes please! More pictures and details!
I like how tall it is. That's exactly the height I'm looking for as well.. and like you said, with a rack and gear itll be close to being flush.
