I looked all over the Internet, trying to find a backseat extension platform for my access cab Tacoma that I could just buy from Walmart or Amazon but I had no luck so I ended up having to just build one.
I started with a piece of half-inch thick plywood, and I jigged around the console where it sticks into the backseat area.
Then needed to find something to fill the space in between the backseat and the back of the front seats to make the platform level. I ultimately ended up getting the perfect size containers from Walmart. I did not notice an actual namebrand they’re just called extra large Storage containers very basic, thin and light.
They actually ended up being the perfect size height and width.
I then gorilla glued a nonslip rubber pad on the top side of the plywood (a.k.a. yoga mat) and I used scissors to cut it to size.
After I got it all buttoned up and put into place I put the dog bed on top of the whole thing and everything worked great. My dog is very happy. He loves the extra space without sliding around.

Awesome! I need to get a ramp for my dog, he recently started having some back leg issues and I'm helping him make the jump up and down to prevent further injury. Here's the Dog Deck I replaced the back seats with! 2x4 bolted into the seat mount holes, 1/2" plywood, outdoor carpet on the bottom and the back. The bottom has two legs underneath resting on the floormats so it didn't flex as he laid down on it. Also, I later added a thick rubber mat on top of the carpet as it was not grippy enough for him. Worked great for our long drive to camping last weekend!

Anyone still following this thread - unfortunately, my ride-or-die truck buddy passed away a couple months ago. The dog deck pictured above is free to anyone who could use it and in the Central Florida area; it just bolts right in once the seats are out (3rd gen). Not pictured is the grippy rubber mat I added to the bottom portion so it's more comfortable, has more traction for your pup, and covers the wood.
