Dumb financial decision, but kind of would like to try the manual.

How bad did you get hosed at a dealer trading in your old taco for a new one?

We’re you able to swap any of your mods over to the new one? Mainly just wanted to swap the hood/tires/cap if I could

The hood would be the most difficult, but why don’t you take the cap and tires off prior to trade in?

I don’t have stock tires. The cap is not an issue to remove.

I traded my 2012 for a 2021 my dealer said I could remove ball hitch, tonneau cover and seat covers. I said no thanks I'm not putting that old crap on my new truck.

Traded my 2017 TRD OR for the 2020 TRD Pro.

OTD for the 2017 when I purchased it back in May of 2017 was $36k. Was offered $30.5k for the 2017 last September.

I swapped out a few mods, and sold them to others. Removed the mods before I brought the truck in to trade (and prior to any offer for the truck). So I can't really help you there.

Get a carmax quote that’s good for 7 days , but the new truck and swap what you want to keep them bring the other to carmax and sell it

Sounds like we’re in the same ballpark, just might have to pull the mods and buy some stock stuff is what I’m gathering

It probably wouldn't be as bad of a hose job as you might think. I ran into a double cab pro with manual not long after purchasing mine and the salesman was kind of insistent on making me a offer. If I hadn't had 4k in accessories it would have been very reasonable.

You will not get hosed.... i had a 2018 automatic sport, hated the automatic transmission so bad i traded it on a 2015 auto ... loved it but also bought that wife an SUV so she told me get what i want (manual) :) — so i traded it on a 2021 off road manual

    best decision i ever made

and the power seats/ CarPlay is a monster upgrade - your trade in will be great right now but don’t expect a deal at all on the manual.

I would rather not have power seats. No need for a 3 year upgrade. More complexity and no real advantage, plus loss of money

@TacoBuffet help this guy out. Tell him how you get a new Tacoma every 6 months or so.

The big upgrade would be getting rid of the POS automatic

If I had a manual, I would dump it, like 20 day old kimchi. So in my opinion for my needs the manual is the POS!!!!!
haha Want a manual. Get a miata and go have some fun. These trucks aren't sports cars, lol.

I don’t get a fun driving experience out of tiny Mazda Miata. Plenty of enjoyment out of a manual taco, on and off road. Speed is not what I’m looking for
