We have a 2012 Camry SE 4 cyl, I think its pretty sporty for a sedan it even has paddle shifters. They are available with a v6 we looked at a couple when we were shopping for ours.

If I were to buy another car and Corolla and Camry weren't every invented then I'd be buying a Honda. I'm sure you're going to love it. The reliability and gas mileage is awesome!

Two early 90's Civic's both had that problem. My late 80's Accord never had any of those issues.

OP, was there a particular reason you went with this over an Altima or Camry? My dad's looking to buy a sedan, it's pretty much between an Accord or Altima

A buddy of mine had a late 80's hatchback as a second car. He didn't change the oil for 16,000 km's, the car still ran great. Changed the oil, took awhile and he was on his way again. He had it almost 2 years before he got rid of it.

Nissan's Quality isnt there, drove one, didnt like how low quality it felt, yes it was fast, but thats about it. The honda had comfort, a ton of features even for the base model they sell (im getting exl v6), and IMO (i work as a service writer at an auto repair shop) I get more nissans in for repairs than hondas. Hondas last forever!

The c pillar on the Camry just ruins it's profile imo.

I agree! Really nice cars. A V6 must move in those! We were a signature away from one but needed more space and went with a VW Sportwagon. VW gave us a lot better deal too which irritated me after buying my truck from Toyota less than a year earlier.

A bit off topic but I can relate to this statement.

I had a E34 540I before my X-Runner... Although 13 years older, The quality and engagement in driving was fantastic. I miss it :( I'm definitely not a truck person.

    XRUmeet049_865427f785f514ca69dd9415f38ddc89814c0fd2.jpg

But... There is a misconception that German cars are not really reliable so they are generally over looked when people want a commuter. But I will admit that they are not on par with Honda or Toyota.

I don't think the new Accords are a bad choice, And the color chose looks fantastc

I'm not a really big fan of the dual screen's they have on these
    [IMG]

But if I were set on the Accord, I would of gone with the Touring... Just because I like their LED headlights more (pictured above)

But in the same market... I would of rather gone with the Mazda6
    [IMG]

Or even the new Ford Fusion

I gave one a chance, a 2007 Avalon Limited that has 123K miles on it now & it's in great condition. I bought it without hesitation at 113K miles because it's a Toyota & it was taken care of very well. I'm quite sure it will make it to 200K miles easily & I will enjoy the luxury every bit of the way! A full size car with so much room getting 32mpg on the hwy is phenomenal. I LOVE it, perfect car for trips & running around town.

Good luck with the new car. Besides a toyota, you can't go wrong with a Honda. 2 things I would have to disagree with you on is that I don't see how an accord will be more accommadating for future kids vs a dbl cab toyota and if you wanted more fuel savings, why not go with a 4cyl? My wife's CRV and my "beater" accord coupe both have 4cyl's Vtec eng. with plenty of pep and great fuel economy.

Billies on all four corners with daystar spacer lift. Bought it like this. Replacing done with toytec ultimate 3" lift
I have an 01 DC 4WD tacoma on 35's and average 14 in the city. If I was driving the distance the op is driving, I would swap with the wife and drive her 06 Accord sedan V6 6spd. I have gotten almost 40 mpg in it on the interstate. That's at a cruising speed of 70 mph as well. GL with the Accord. I know you will love it!

Uhhh... Toyota has a long going reputation for making the most horribly boring cars ever. At least Honda makes a car that somewhat handles like a car and not a 1 ton pickup truck.

With that said, Toyota trucks > Honda "trucks"

Good luck with the new car OP.

Sick Audi! Almost bought an S4 in 2005 but chose a Tacoma instead. Someday ill have an Audi V8 to play with!!

They truly are tanks! I am on a second VW Jetta as well and same build quality. They drive so nice!

Funny you that. I've always thought an Audi would be the closest thing I could get to my dream piece of German engineering...a WWII Panzer

^^You are absolutely correct that the FR-S is a great handling car but it isn't in the same class as an accord. And like you said, that car is not purely Toyota. In fact from what I've seen, Subaru actually developed the chassis.
