There is a present backlash against the success of creative people who work with their hands, by those “educated” types who ended up with low paying jobs, where they go to the same place everyday, deal with BS office politics, and service a massive debt after following the social narrative. They got hood-winked and are jealous of the freedom and success of those who ignored the standard path in the last couple decades.

I have a very interesting and creative job. Have travelled the country and the world. Raised a family of 5 on a single income. Paid off my house in one of the most expensive markets in North America at 43, and bought my Tacoma with cash. It is not a Dan Bilzerian lifestyle, but respectable, and I attribute it all to the fact I learned to work with my hands and my brain, not just my brain, which is what I was told to do by society.

wait wait wait I thought of another one:

Goes to trade school, years of practice and experience, proud of ones "craft" ... customer watches 1 youtube tutorial and rents drain-snake from Home Depot for 40 bucks. Checkmate plumber.

Got it. I like towing around dead batteries sometimes to. And spending my kids education on toys is a good form of population management.

Your ignorance is overwhelming. I am not in the pipe trades, but knowing what I know, you are stereotyping something you’d probably be incapable of navigating through, based on the lack of perspective you show here.

You won’t win, because you are wrong.

In general, the plumber working on whatever, from fixing a toilet, to constructing a refinery, is highly paid because society values and requires his efforts. Your political science degree is a “nice to have”, but not needed in a pinch.

Anyways......I am glad your are ignorant of the benefits of the tradesperson lifestyle. We certainly don’t need any more wankers in the trades!

Now now now, I did preface my trolling comment with "A-hole comment of the day". It's all in good fun. Besides most of my loser friends / family were also straight C students, who work with their hands and I love the heck out of them.

Then check yourself and stop disrespecting people. Everybody has a story, if you stop to listen.

I wonder if it handles snow well, looks like you might have much of a problem bushing it off. Important around my neck of the woods

Plumber gets called to fix damage caused by homeowner. Plumber charges him double and has sex with Mrs. Homeowner. Better get her on the pill before you need to get a second job to support all of his kids.

Basic human needs are not and will not change much . We will all need water and sewage removal , electricity and it's availability , and heating and cooling among other things . Tech for computers and whatever , changes ever so fast now a days . A collage degree in 2019 may well be obsolete in 2025 , like a farrier was in it's day .

    Similar situation here.

I knew what "I wanted to be when I grew up" since I was 5 years old.

I have pretty much always loved my job.

Not everyone is so lucky, and society does stress higher education, even if it leads to jobs that pay less than what skilled tradespeople make.

It's not an easy life, but I wouldn't trade what I have with any trust fund baby.

    Crazy right?

    Lol

99% of cybertruck's market will be Silicon valley tech types, Youtube personalities, rappers, and professional sports players

I work for many consulting engineers in support of their efforts when they need someone with “hands-on” experience or qualifications. In general, I don’t do as well as the Professional Engineer who owns the engineering firm, not even close is many cases in terms of wealth and maybe lifestyle. Generally, I am doing much better, in terms of income and lifestyle as those working for the engineering firm, as qualified engineers, under the owner’s leadership.

In trades, anyone who is hard working, gets a fair break and a decent lifestyle. In some of the more “educated” type jobs, such as engineering, the very top people do extremely well for themselves, while everyone under them struggles for both income and lifestyle. Trades is truly a bastion of the middle class, while high tech, engineering etc, is often more a case of the 1%ers and the 99%ers working for them. At least in my observations where I live.

Wait wait wait I thought of one: goes to college for 4 years, racks up massive debt, gets a job, gets married and buys a house. One day, he plugs up the pipes because he’s full of shit and It all comes out at once. Calls plumber and goes to his job that he hates. Plumber comes, unblocks pipes and tells wife what an asshole her husband is. She has never been exposed to this much testosterone before and in no time, he is banging her properly (pulling her hair and slapping her ass). Don’t be so full of shit and you won’t have so many kids.
