That's absurd for a bed hogger like this! Sounds like a sweet trade for a Yeti cooler though! I saw someone on facebook marketplace selling them for 700. They're not all that.

Confirmed. It’s not a great cooler. Tried to keep popsicles cold for my little league team for about 3 hours on a 90 degree day with it filled about half way with ice. Pops were pretty soft by the time the kids got them. Plan on removing the box promptly.

So they aren't part of the bed liner? What about a tonneau cover that works for them?

I just purchased this same model truck today. I’m interested in selling mine. I’m in NJ so not sure on shipping.

Looks like most are removing them. Too bad they didn't put a red TRD logo on them and call them "Pro" boxes. They could have sold them for $799 a set.

When I was considering a Trail model, I was looking into these, as I liked the idea but also worried about bed-space for dirtbikes etc. I saw a video of a guy removing them and it seemed fairly easy. It's a bummer to hear that the cooler is not the greatest. I would've maybe tried to just keep that side installed and removed the other side, as a compromise. But if the cooler isn't anything special, then tossing a regular cooler in/out of the bed, as needed, makes much more sense.

I have a set of these if anyone is interested in taking them off my hands. Brand new and located in Southern CA, about to post a 4sale thread.

Given that every thread about them is 99% people hating them and removing them, my guess is you'd be lucky to see a couple hundred bucks for the pair.

I could see having one for gear but mounting both sure does take up a lot of space.

I have a 2nd & 3rd gen, the measurements of the bed are the same. Only difference is the rail, the 3rd gen is slightly lower. I don’t have one to help out, but I guess it should fit.

if you’re planning to use it as a cooler, the ice retention won’t last long. The wall is thin with no insulation. For the price of a used one, get a cooler for the same price that does a better job. If it’s for random stuff, I guess it’s ok.
