Someone has one. There was one at my local dealer and is gone. They might have accidentally locked themselves into the bed boxes and aren’t able to post their pics though.

Following. Interested to see how easily these can be removed. I like the idea of having some built in storage when I need it.

Buy a tool box or some other sort of storage box and a cooler throw it in your bed, done. Plus easily removable.

I just bought one. I honestly didn't know they existed until I was at the dealer and had the sales girl pull up the incoming inventory on her computer... I thought it was an error.

"How the hell are you receiving an SR5 in army green?"

    Here it is though...

Hey danoo, I'll take a couple pics tomorrow of the attachment points in the bed, I think it's just a couple hex heads for each one but I'm not 100%.

Too much! $37,700, MSRP is $38,255. They wouldn't budge much on price and I didn't have much leverage since availability on pretty much all Tacos has been low (let alone an army green SR5) and I don't have many dealerships near me in Upstate NY.

The full story is that the original dealership that I learned of this model at wasn't going to receive the truck until mid-November and they wouldn't sell $1 under MSRP, many of their trucks that hadn't even arrived yet already had deposits on them. So I called 5 other dealerships and drove 90 minutes to Ithaca to get this one which had just arrived on their lot. I could have walked out and played hard to get but I didn't want to risk playing games and have someone else swoop it.

Anything worth owning has been getting scarce around here... land, appliances, generators, firearms, bullets, etc... and price doesn't seem to be a factor.

Cool. It's literally a package that includes the only extras I wanted without paying extra for 1" bigger shitter-tainment system and whatever other bloated factory trash I'd rather add third-party.

Black wheels, upgraded tires, black badging, 120v outlet, rubber floor liners, and a few other nice extras in a striking color that's otherwise unavailable. What's the problem?

Tell me what your issue with the trail edition is? is it the cooler in the back? cause you know they can be removed.

The hate is unreal. Over 2 boxes in the back that can be removed. It’s the same truck as any other SR5.

    This. Right here.
I’ve got the exact truck as you on hold. Same config (same msrp). The reason I want the trail edition has nothing to do with the boxes which are just a nice-to-have. It’s about the bed outlet, the color, the rims and tires, and not needing any of the OR features like crawl control since I spend 99.99% of my time on pavement.

:rofl:It just now hit me that this was a troll thread all along. Maybe I do belong in the cooler...

We have at our fingertips a massive community of resourceful people who all love and drive Tacomas... and this is how you capitalize on that. We all paid too much, who cares. I'm thrilled and I'm gonna spend even more discretionary ameribux on it.

Nice, makes perfect sense. I needed something reliable for driving unplowed backroads this winter and winters to come. 4x4 SR5 with limited slip diff fits the bill. Trail's practical for camping and tailgating, and tires should last longer than usual factory. I'm sure you'll love it.

I kinda like the Frankenstein look of the Trail Edition and would consider it if I were in the market. I think the Trail wheels are the best look in the entire Tacoma lineup. And lets make this an actual Trail thread.

Honestly, if I was able to get my SR with the 120v outlet, I would have and the coolers? Eh, they can be removed, and if you roll up to a tailgate with those, you're gunna be the hero of the party so haha
