Honestly, first person in the midwest who wants to sell their trail edition coolers, I will be right there to make an offer on them.

Nice looking truck! Not a fan of the Limited grill, but otherwise looks great. Can you tell if the black badges are overlays, or actual black badges?

I’ve got a pending offer of $35.4K (with incentives) on one that stickers for $38.9k. Need to pull the trigger no later then Saturday. Found an off road that stickers for $40.9k I’m inquiring about today.

I didn’t know the tires were different than the off road package. I’ll have to go back and look at the details.

You're good don't worry. Truck looks good and seems to have a nice mix of TRD features and some coolers lol.

My only concern is the price on these as I can't see a base OR being far from this, if even cheaper.

Also, don't count on the factory tires lasting any longer than usual. Seriously.

Does this mean the Trail Edition will get more hate than the Sport now? Asking for a friend...

The name "Trail Edition" has been used by Toyota for over a decade. But yeah unfortunately the Taco Trail Edition lacks most of the off-road features.

Nice find! My local dealer has hardly anything new on the lot. I suspect Tacoma's that they get in are already sold.

And yes to scarcity of everything you mentioned.

    Trail Edition needs these things:

    Rear locker
    Manual option
    Keyless ignition
    Upgraded headlights
    Leather seats
    Crawl Control / MTS
Front camera (Idk if that is already an option)

Thanks, and yeah me neither, not sure why they wouldn't go with something black for the grill. Replacing that will be the first aesthetic purchase I make. Badges are overlays, whats the story on this? Do some models have true black overlays? I was thinking about just shaving them off.

Not sure if they're the same as the OR, but they're Goodyear Wrangler Kevlars. I just meant as an upgrade over base SR5. Wouldn't surprise me if they under-deliver though, I ran Michelin LTX on my last truck years ago and I know nothing about Goodyear nowadays.

Definitely agree on the rear locker. The rest though I didn't need and mostly didn't want, particularly leather, keyless, and MT since my wife will have to drive it sometimes and honestly I'm ready for a break from manual myself. The OR in the config I was looking to get is a bit uglier. It's superfluous stuff and quite subjective but at the end of the day I found this one more appealing than an OR with gray seats and all that chrome. If I ever miss it enough I'll pick-a-part a rear axle off an OR.

The prices weren't close for me either, I didn't mention incentive in my pricing earlier, so I guess I didn't fare too bad. Things like this though make it very apparent that I don't live in a big city anymore, the most naked OR I could find was still easily $2.5k+ over the Trail and those closest green OR for under $45k was about 250 miles away, green + preferred options was 300+

Ok here's the details on the bed coolers as promised. The attachment points for each are
    1. Under the tie down D-ring near the tailgate, secured by hex bolt
    2. Under the side bed rail, secured by 1" M6 Torx bolts.

Haven't pulled them yet but it looks like you have to remove and re-attach the rails to get the coolers out. I'm 90% certain there are no other bolts under the coolers themselves holding them down.

Also, even though one side is marketed as temperature insulated, ie the "cooler" with the snowflake emblem, both seem to have same thickness and weight on both sidewalls and lids, and both have removable silicone drain plugs at the bottom. The only difference I could see was the slightly different shape of the molding that wraps around the 120v outlet on the passenger side. So, "one for yer beverages, one for yer shotgun" might just be marketing. If I notice anything different later I'll update.

Does the truck key lock the compartments?
    Or is separate key provided?
    Thanks
