Good Morning Amigos!

I still have the BFG Rugged Fails that are pretty worn (20,500 miles)... but am shopping for new shoes for the Taco... Thinking DynoPro ATm ? I hate mud, but it may be fun to give the A-TRAC another mud test (like at Mision Santa Maria)!

Anyway, as you know it has been a looong time sing I went four wheeling, and would be interested in joining you again... so Doug won't be the only 'old' guy out there!

Also, I live 'next door' to Camp Pendleton... near the back gate... College and Hwy. 76 is a Wall Mart parking lot... I could give a marine a ride south, if I do go. I might pick up my son in Lakeside, he lives by Doug's house...?

stock? eh idk if thats a good idea, last year manny had some worn out mud terrains and he was all over the place

 

Crap loads of us have 4x2, AsianAnts. I've done plenty of runs with the group with my stock non-locked sport. 4x2 only makes it more interesting You should join us.

but you guys are definitely hyping me up for the next adventure *hint hint* *wink wink* *nudge nudge* hahahah....gives me a peace of mind that i can still "off-road" a little with my 4x2...

side question, dont really want to buy all those fancy lift kits and springs and what not.. but i would like some new tires that will naturally lift the truck a bit... a good all around tire, majority road but if need be off the road will work just fine.. any suggestions?

 

I guess to each his own on this one lol. I've got them sport tires and I do get more tire-slippage than most, but I do largely just fine

A good all around tire that many on here run are the BFG All Terrains. As for size, I suck at that. I'm sure someone else will chime in. Also, I'm sure there's tons of threads on here with people asking, "What's the biggest tire I can run on a stock Taco without rubbing / damage?" O and u can offroad well more than a little with your 4x2

You'll only be able to go up 1 tire size from your current stock tire without rubbing. It won't really "lift" the truck more than a minute bit and may make it look lower as the tires will fil the whell well more.

Lift kits don't need to be fancy, you can get Bilstein 5100's all around and preload them with your current springs and get a add-a-leaf for the rear. Total investment on all of that $400 and some time with a wrench or pay to have it installed.

 

With no lift, the biggest tire you can run is 265/75/16. It's a decent sized tire. I'd go with an all-terrain tire to give you some extra traction.
