This was me with a group last year. The trail was a bit of a wet mess and half of the trail was done in the pouring rain.

The 15:00(ish) point of the video has the trucks trying this part.

Another video from a couple years ago.

It will be cooler weather for my mountain ass. I will actually be able to tolerate it. November should work out well for me towards the end of the month. I am quitting all my side weekend work after this weekends last job. So I can get cranking on all the parts I been collecting in the garage and get the rig shape instead of it being a garage potato.

I'm game to change to November.

@KingOfTheNorth and @Yacob_D if you have some dates for November I can just update this tread.

Really putting me under the gun to finish my shit. No current date. Let me look at the calander. But all I know for sure is I will be out of town the first weekend. Otherwise I should be good to go. Since I am traveling down from Show Low I will probably just turn it into a camping weekend. May come down and camp at the meet spot friday night and then either find somewhere on bumble bee or up near camp verde to camp the following night. But who knows.

    GET YO SHIT DONE!

I might be interested in camping whatever weekend this ends up on since it's a few extra weeks to plan.

I WILL! SHIT MOFO, GET OFF MY NUTS! :crapstorm:

But I already have the sliders bent. Just need to weld them. Have the bumper and just need to weld it and mount the new gas tank. Oh and build a swing out for the spare.

Edit: And get new tires :spending:

I would be interested in the campout as well. Make since if im traveling across town anyway. I'll again double check with the GF. My best case weekend is the 11th or 18th and I'll snag them before she add another something to the weekends.

I will be gone the 3rd through the 6th. So the 11th will be really tight and I will just use the weekend for a mod day. So how about the weekend of the 18th?

Changed the tread info and title to Nov.18th. Put a cap of 5-6 trucks, unless that's to many.

Is this the same route @MulletTaco mentioned that would take you to China Dam??

That should be a good cap, will have to see who else can make it and plan from there.

Just a bunch of old crap
I've run it a dozen times, having done nearly every "hard" route (1 which I'll never take with my truck). I've always had armor, but I've never once hit a slider, bumper or a skid plate, even when i was a "new" off-roader. Maybe I'm just not aggressive enough. Granted, I have a 3" lift and 33" tires so that gives me just the right clearance when this trail is in "decent" condition. Snowmelt and rain are hardest on it, but it does get mostly graded every few years.

Note: I have 4x4 but I do not have lockers. Open diff life.

There are bypasses to all of the difficult places, but those bypasses may be more daunting to some than others. It's all about taking a smart line through the tougher spots. Much of the trail is just slow touring around, preventing tires from taking damage from some sharp rocks. I've seen stock trucks get through, but they dragged a crossmember/tailpipe/hitch on a couple spots.

I haven't been on it in a couple years, so I can't vouch for true current condition. November likely means some snow near the top, and potentially rains that could cause ruts and washout, making some easier obstacles a bit more difficult or potentially impassible. Make sure your group has one good scout rig that is capable.

Removed some stuff, added some stuff.
China dam would be a rewarding little side quest on our main journey to the King of Crowns  Yeah I think we can make that work, I’d still like to scout out a trip to Toole Creek and the homestead along with Indian mesa if that’s even possible. I’m good for NOV 18th! I’ll put it in my calendar so I don’t inadvertently schedule helping my Grampa move a gun safe on the same day again :anonymous:

Added you to the list. And I'd still be down for a separate exploration day in November or sooner.
