So when I saw them on the highway it looked like they tracked well and weren't swaying all over. Looks like there is a platform extended in front of the bed, maybe for the balance of tongue weight like you're suggesting?

From the looks of the 3rd picture, the frame extends out ahead of the box and he has equipment boxes on there. It would also be a great place to store the dirt bike to improve weight distribution.

Edit: And looking closely at the second picture, that his where is dirt bike is mounted.

Looks great and all, but how much crap do you really need to bring from home to enjoy the outdoors?

[IMG] I camped in the same field as these guys. They were with Toyota Corp. They were just testing out some stuff and getting ideas and feedback. They used the back half of wrecked Tacoma's from there crash tests. Nice down to earth people.

I think you and I are on the same page. I see a lot of people spending a ton of money on camping mods...they would probably be happier with a Winnebago that tows a Tacoma.

Just a blank canvas for opportunities.

A trailer like that would make a perfect base camp for mountain bike trips where you fill the whole bed with bikes.

Or if you have a similar rack+RTT setup on your truck, but then wanna go wheel hells revenge, swap the setup over to the trailer and have a truck with a much lower CG you can play with during the day.

Pro tip for everyone. To search a fair amount of junkyards across the country, go to Car-Part.com and put in what you are looking for. It will generally sort by distance to the zip you enter!

Check pull-a-part. I got mine for $250ish. The frame for $50 as it was replaced under the rust warranty. It was rusted at the front that I cut off anyway. I should have less than what a used popup would cost and can take it more places. Plus, I have spares for the truck if needed.. I'm running the same Dobinsons leafs, wheels, tires, etc

Two words came to mind when I saw that : Redneck tech.:boink::bananadead:

Well, maybe it’s three words? IDK. At any rate, sorry if it offends anyone but that’s what I actually thought of. :anonymous:
