    What are you even saying?

The Silverado is a full size truck. They're different segments. Quit baiting.

They're both off road geared consumer grade pickups. Chevy looks to have found the answer to providing a great looking alternative that will perform at or above the Tacoma

It is a totally different size class from the Tacoma. That said, it's pretty cool and I'm glad Chevy is throwing a bigger truck in the off road mix. Although they could have made it a little more aggressive looking.

At a full size truck price. Mid size is still definitely cheaper.

I thought the Silverado would be a better comparison to a tundra.

I think they probably have aerodynamic issues and hitting the fuel efficiency targets. The aftermarket may provide some interesting options for those with disposable income.

I posted this thread for those who come to this forum looking for "xxx vs. Tacoma, thoughts?" threads.

Nope. No MT. Too big. They finally fixed the wheel arches, yet managed to still make them look bad. The angled mold lines on the rear. WTF?

They're different segments. Pick-ups do not make up one class; for the same reason a Civic Si and 911 turbo are DIFFERENT SEGMENTS.

If you want a comparison that makes any sense, compare the Taco to the Colorado. Or this Silverado to a Tundra.

Whatever floats your boat. Both trucks, both meant for the general population to perform recreational activities. Appears to be comparable segments to me.

Agreed. Better than the rectangles, but still bad.

I think it is great to see a domestic provider actually put off road equipment on their off road model, instead of the usual badging and interior accessories to justify the markup

I think the only competitive comparison that is on the horizon is the Ford Ranger, everything else on the market currently seems to be aimed toward the tech packages and less towards a functional and reliable truck. My two cents.

As others have stated this truck is not in Tacoma realm. It's competing with the Tacoma and the all famous Raptor. So good luck Chevy. Though I am glad they changed the wheel arches to round and not to square wheels and tires.
