    I had to replace the wiring hitch on my 2006 Tacoma because the guy who had it before me must have backed into something so I wired a new one in and to the best of my knowledge it's correct. When I am connected to the trailer the lights are dim and using either turn signal makes both lights flash like the hazards are on. When I hook up to it with my girlfriends 2011 4Runner all the lights are bright, either turn signal works and the brakes light up. So it must be on my pickup but I have no idea where I went wrong. I cross checked between the wiring on my pickup and the hitch wiring instructions. I wired it as so;
    Pin 1) Green/ Tail lights
    Pin 2) Black/ Battery
    Pin 3) Red/ Left Turn Signal
    Pin 4) Yellow/ Back up lights
    Pin 5) Brown/ Right Turn Signal
    Pin 6) White/ Ground
    Pin 7) Blue/ Trailer Brakes

    The dimming sounds like a bad ground. See you sure white and black are setup correctly

    Wiring sounds right, but I agree about the ground. Check your grounds, anytime I have that issue with truck/trailer, I just put a jumper from a good ground spot on the trailer to the one on the truck. Fast way to check if that's the cause.

    I also agree with the ground but I'm pretty sure it's on my pickup because when I'm hooked up to the 4Runner all is well. I briefly looked at the wires coming out of the hitch to trace down the ground wire coming out but it splits off into other harnesses and I quickly gave up. Any insight?

    I just took a minute to really think about how I have it currently and I'm pretty sure I have Pins 1 and 2, 6 and 7 reversed. I'll double check
