Interesting. I am having trouble with my 4 pin trailer connector...thought it was the trailer, but now I wonder...let us know how it turns out.

They should be able to test each port inside the plug.

It makes no sense tring another trailer, you said your trailer works fine with your buddies truck. All light work correctly. Then the issue is with your truck, there are separate fuses for the truck blinkers and trailer blinkers. There should be 2 fuses for the trailer wiring harness. You have to rule one out then go to the source.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Just went down to Autozone and bought 2 LED lights and installed one in each side (left/right). Lights work now. Funny thing though, when I installed the LED in the left hand side it started working but then the right hand side stopped...that's why I put one in there. I know it's not "THE" fix but it works and it's making me think more and more that I have a bad ground.

I seem to have missed those fuses when I looked in the fuze box...where are they?

I believe one is in the fuse box in the cab (marked Towing), the other is under the hood (back up LP) I thought you said in a previous post that the trailer worked fine when you hooked it up to your buddies truck.

It did...and with an LED bulb in place of one of the normal bulbs it works fine too.

I believe you are on the right path with a ground issue.

Truck checked fine at the dealership (as I was expecting) so I'm fairly convinced it's the trailer. The new meter arrives today so more troubleshooting tomorrow.

You could check the trailer lights off the truck battery with a wire from the ground terminal to ground on the trailer and with a wire off the positive terminal to the correct pin on the 7-pin connector on the trailer.

Just a follow-up: As I said above the dealership said the truck's lighting system checked out satisfactorily. I bought a meter, checked everything on the trailer and it also checks out satisfactory (retired Navy Electronics Tech if anyone doubts my ability to read a VOM). Ended up just replacing one trailer light on each side with an LED bulb - turn signals worked great after that. The only thing I can figure is since the trailer has three sets of turn signal lights on each side (two up above and one below) that the current draw with the regular bulbs was just too much for the electronic relay in the truck's turn signal system.
