My 24 has a new issue. I connect my trailer. I set up the trailer in the dash and select it. When I back up, the truck thinks something is behind me and jams on the e brake. It didn’t do this the entire first year. I tow all the time. Is something broken or do I have some setting wrong

I will try that. I've not used that in the past for my light aluminum trailer.

Do you have a seven pin connection from your trailer. The seven pin contains the trailer brake wire which is what shuts off the auto braking. I know there is a work around without the 7 pin but I didn't really pay attention since I don't own a trailer without a 7 pin. If there isn't a solution here on tacoma world . The subject is discussed in several threads on Tundras.com I'm sure the work around is the same.
