I have a 2008 DCLB and my trailer plug is not working at all. I have checked all the fuses under the hood and dash and still nothing. I've tested every contact with the receiver and there is zero power coming to it. I've heard that there have been some mid-harness fuses on other Tacomas but have not located any on mine. Anyone else had any issues like this? I would love to not have to drop $200 on a whole new harness if that's not the issue in the first place.

There is a relay in the fuse box under the hood. Swap it with the fuel pump relay to test. Its the same relay. Make sure you put them back after you get done testing.

You do not want to leave a weak relay in the fuel pump slot.

Enough to make it a lot of fun!
you could possibly have a short some where. it could be a minor one that would not blow a fuse. if you have a meter you can check continuity to ground, for every wire and if it doesn't rings out you have a wire that is broken some where.

You do need the key in the "on" position. The plug will be dead without the key on. I'm sure you knew this, but its worth repeating.

Define "not working" tail lights, brake lights, turn signals, aux power or all of the above?

thanks for the replies, had not thought to check the relays. As to the questions, all the lights on the rear of my truck work fine but none of the electrical for the trailer works.
