Looking for a travel trailer. Must have toilet. Love to hear of recommendations/experiences. Airstream tastes, brokedick dog finances.

Determine your tow capacity. Now, divide by 2. The empty/curb/unloaded weight of the trailer should not exceed that limit.

You need to leave room for gear, hitch, propane, food, people, dishes, pots/pans.........

Then be focused on load distribution when you load up for a trip. Remember, the LOADED tongue weight is counted as CARGO on the truck.

Suggest to look at the many variants of folding campers. Some folders are hard sided.

<edit> One more thing..... Don't believe the salesmen. If his lips are moving, then he is lying. Get the numbers, do your own figuring to check the capacities.

I’m at 2,500# loaded truck and trailer. Glad I don’t have more.

Lots out there to choose from. I would be looking at some of the "lightweight" versions. Also, a dual axel tows better than a single. I had a Winnebago and was easy to tow. Good luck in your findings. :)

I am thinking about getting into the travel trailer game myself.

I saw a Coleman Lantern LT 17B - rated at 3042 lbs dry. It's single axle, which apparently doesnt tow as easily (my understand is the wind can be a bigger factor with single axle, especially at 22ft long).

But, it's affordable at ~$15,000. Earlier in the year, I saw them as low as $13,000 new. I am really curious about the long haul reliability of it being so cheap.
