I have a 2002 Prerunner with V6 and automatic. This is probably a stupid question BUT how can I tell if my truck has a towing package? It does have a connector for electric brakes.

I guess you can check if the entire wiring from the 7-pin receptacle at your hitch is loomed together and runs back to the cab or fuse box :notsure:

otherwise if they were like me I used the pigtail and ran the 4 to the 7-pin and wired the rest separate :D

I had thought the trailer Towing package was a dealer added option in those early days .

Pretty sure they did not include a 7 pin plug

The real question does it have a Auxiliary Transmission Cooler??

A true factory tow package will have the small aux fuse box mounted to the back wall of the cab. Behind seat. Most were dealer installed. Never seen one woth an auxiliary trans cooler. Not saying its not possible. But never seen one. 4 pin connector only supports lights. Thats all the Tacomas came with.
