    Remote start
    I was told today by Toyota dealer that my 2013 Tacoma TRD with trailer towing package does not need a brake controller. It is built into the truck. I have not seen any advertising for this so I am a little skeptical. I will be towing soon so I want it to be safe.

    I Haven't heard anything about that either... The one time I did pull an empty trailer that usually will lock up the brakes on grass unloaded I noticed no braking sooo

    Ome, Sqeak free dakars, arms, skids, sliders.
    Definitely need a brake controller if your trailer has brakes. If not then you are good.

    There should be a plug in your dash that you ug in behind the driver kick panel and the other to your brake controller of your choice.

    Weather Tech floor mats
    No integrated controller. It has the 7 pin integrated, but no controller. If you open the glove box, you should find a plastic bag with a wiring harness. That is used to install the controller.

    Yeah, you are kinda misunderstanding the guy at the dealership. The controller is dependent on the trailer being towed. Some light trailers don't use them. The electronics to hook up your trailers' brake controller is included with the tow package.

    Also depends on whether the trailer has electric brakes or surge breaks. The brake controller is for electric brakes.

    either that or the guy at the dealer meant to say that it is trailer brake ready which just means all the wiring is there.
