Unsure what you're attempting to communicate but the new Landcruiser with body on frame is nothing like a Bronco Sport or Chevrolet Blazer unibodies (they more closely resemble the Rav4.)

I understand they are body on frame. I am just saying it felt soul-less when I test drove one, like the bronco sport or blazer. It is just a name and a departure of when Toyota used to sell the same land cruiser that they were selling in other countries like the 200 series for example. Why doesn't Toyota just sell the 300 series here?

Not sure which one you have, but the hybrid 6 cylinder in the Defender sounds like a nice engine on paper.

    It’s definitely NOT extremely overbuilt.

250 is the 4runner, land cruiser, and Lexus gx550
    300 is the Lexus lx600
(Both Lexuses get the V6 engine, though)

So what vehicle are you using for this tortuous trout fishing trip now? A mule team?

I need a truck bed, so Taco for me. BUT, I do not believe the Taco will be any near the vehicle or fit & finish of the Land Cruiser. In other words, LC may be worth the price a Tacoma is not.

(Although I quoted you, this is not directed towards you)

The Lexus version of the 300 (The LX600) is far out of reach for most customers so it isn't really a vehicle I consider comparable. The LX600 is mostly for blue haired customers that will probably never take it offroad. Most of the Lexus brand seems that way. Go wait in a Lexus dealer waiting room if you don't believe me.

At least when the 80 series was sold here, we could choose between the LX450 or the FZJ80/FJ80.

Just buy them both- then you wont have to worry about if you got the wrong one.

After a year, sell the one you drove the least.

Do you have any other first world problems I can solve?

If you want a good answer, send the coordinates and sections you fish. I can take both options on the road and report back

Besides the missing front solid axle this to me is comparable to my 80 series. It's even very close in dimensions. The engineers specifically used an 80 series as their template from an article quoting the LC 250 engineers. Just my opinion.

Everyone is entitled to how they view the 250 series. We can agree to disagree on this one.

I always considered the 80 series the last true land cruiser that you could buy in the US market but I know I am not the only one saying this. I would hang on to yours for sure.
