Trailmaster TP-95 strut replacement

Have 6" trailmaster "disaster" lift, busted strut cartridge that is no longer made, my fix was a little more involved than other threads I've read. What I did was shave top of strut to same O.D. as threads for an additional 10mm, down to clamp in pic, then in my lower strut housing I had to slowly make wider as the replacement strut cartridge I got housing was slightly fatter and wouldn't fit, plus I wanted something that when this fails I can just order exact same strut cartridge and drop right in, now I can. So far so good also replacement strut is alot stronger than original trailmaster. Been climbing, rocks, mud bogging, and fairly serious 4x4 trailrides and still holding strong. Couple thing be sure to get cartridge type strut ONLY. See pics, I ordered the KYB 364014 EXCEL-GAS CARTRIDGE off amaz for $26. Fits a 1991 VW golf. Also, ordered from stengel brothers the flat u-bolt that attaches Secondary strut to the knuckle, Part # 5U-9485S 3/8 X 1 1/2 X 3 1/4S 8 SQUARE UBOLT WITH NUTS AND WASHERS roughly $15 after shipping, could NOT find one elsewhere, original is 3 1/2" long this one fits well and is beefier than original.
Also, ordered TY everybody for all your help could NOT of done it without all the help I got from taco world members!!
