Busy on the 19th, post Mother's Day "Mother's Day" dinner.

    But free on the 20th.
Two other rigs and I will be going somewhere, just haven't decided where yet.

Sorry, passed out early last night and forgot to reply.

    Haven’t decided on anything yet.

Thinking of Truckee area. We’ll probably start the day around 7-8am

Man I am busy this weekend! Keep me in the loop tho! I’m waiting for my SCS SR8 wheels to arrive today. Still waiting on my suspension to ship out. Let me know next time you guys head out. Has anyone checked out sly park I heard there’s some trails up that way. Knoxville out near lake Berryessa is another place. I like the woods tho. Snow, creeks, redwoods. Actually I wanna do some remote camping too.

I just went to Hollister yesterday and had fun. Broke in the TRD Pro Skid plate a few times on some blue trails which provide plenty of challenge at the stock ride-height. The last time I went to Hollister was about 8-10 years ago in a Jeep Cherokee and it was much easier I think because of the shorter wheelbase and straight front axle. This trip makes me want some increased lift and bigger tires, but it's my daily driver and I have a 65 mile round trip daily commute so I've got a dilemma.

You and me both brother...you and me both. Want to lift and add bigger wheels and a rack but alas student loans, car payment, bills, etc leave me with little wiggle room for this DD lol

A standard lift doesn't really mess with MPG too much on the Tacoma.

If you want to stay affordable as an occasional weekend warrior, then you can go with a standard spacer lift in the front and a block lift in the rear. Sliders and a Cab mount chop.

If you want some added capability, then you could go with upgraded Bilsteins so you can get some actual travel.

If you want to occasionally do some wheeling on the weekend, wait for a deal on a set of used 285/70R17 tires to go on a really cheap set of 17s.

I’d be interested in going on Sunday. I’m installing my ditch lights on Wednesday night but otherwise, my truck is ready to go.
When it comes to an inexpensive lift, you could always go with the same thing I have on my truck. It’s only a 3” lift but it makes a huge difference.

@roguegs... it would definitely help on your truck and it wouldn’t really affect the gas mileage much either.

Just a note, a 3" lift is a generic term which means any lift that gives an additional 3" of ride height or body lift. It doesn't designate how it was done.

    • Coilovers
    • Leaf packs
    • Add-A Leaf
    • Increased strength front Springs
    • Coilover Spacers
    • Leaf Spring Blocks
    • Body spacers
These are all methods of increasing the ride height or body lift of a vehicle.

I am aware of the different methods. I was just mentioning the lift on my truck to @roguegs because he’s seen it in person and knows what it looks like.

yeah, but you're not the only person that reads the forum. context is good because it provides for better search results for future users, plus things might change as far as your choice of upgraded suspension components and reality may not match with what's currently posted in your profile.

Not too much, thinking fire roads to a peak or something.

It'll probably be around Truckee, Donner Pass, or just a few miles past the NV border.

Might be a bit far for me...lol I might just stick around on some trails along Hwy 4 in Arnold or somewhere. Know of any trails along that stretch of highway?

Not off the top of my head.

I'll keep you updated when we decide where to go.

It's on a Sunday, might keep it local, we'll see.
