    Hey, I'm new to the forum any help wold be greatly appreciated. I have a 96 tacoma 4x4 v6 auto. The trans give up on me I was wanting to know what it would take to put a 5 speed trans in it. Thanks for any help.

    Search for a member SafetyDang. He swapped his double cab auto for a manual. And he's all smart and stuff too.

    ALL OF THEM!...Then some more.
    Lets see..

    Tranny, r151, including everything..

    Master cylinder
    Slave cylinder
    Clutch pedal and all parts
    And most importantly a new ECU that's for a manual.
    Either new harness or custom hack your current one.
    New center console..

    Think that would be the basics..

    I'm not sure on drive shafts or transfer case.

    Don't forget the flywheel, clutch assy. it may have a different driveshaft, too.

    Swapped to Manual Trans & 4x4
    My best advice its to save for a doner Tacoma. Part out what you don't need and do your swap. After doing the swap I spent the same amount I would have if I bought a wrecked rig. Mind you I did also do a 4x4 conversion at the same time. On to of that I also bought after market parts here and there.
