    I have a 95.5 tacoma 4x4 5 speed 6 cyl. extra cab

I am looking into buying the lowrangeoffroad rear disc conversion and was looking into options for an e-brake. From what I have read, the best option when doing this conversion is going with a trans case brake which lowrangoffroad also sells. My only concern was that it specifically mentions that its for the 4 cyl trans cases..... From my research, the J shift transfer case is identical between the 4 cyl and 6 cyl except for the input shaft having a different spline count.

    here is the link: http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/toyota-mini-truck-transfer-case-e-brake.html

So shouldn't the Transfer Case e-brake kit work for my truck?

Thanks for the info, I had originally looked into the line lock option but I read a lot of debates on different threads saying the t-case option would be better. For a mechanic line lock like that, wouldnt you need to run a brake line up into the cab and back down to the rear line so it could be operated from the seat?
Looks like I could use my factory ebrake lever with the tcase kit as long as it fits.

From the 2 options on LROR for the t-case e-brake, neither one are for a Tacoma, only for the older trucks.

The manual line lock would require running new brake lines into the cab to wherever you mounted it. There are other options for electric line locks so you would only have to push a cab mounted button to turn it on or off with the solenoid mounted in the engine compartment or wherever you wanted.

Read this thread about maybe doing the rear disc conversion yourself instead of buying a kit. They are using 4th gen 4Runner rear brake rotors and what appears to be 1994 - 1998 Ford Mustang GT rear brake calipers that have an integrated e-brake. There is some fab work involved to make the caliper mounting brackets and I have still not seen much about how they are integrating the e-brake cables but the interesting stuff is towards the end of the thread, like the last 4 or 5 pages.

just make sure which way you go is legal in your state.

Nothing like spending big $$$$ then can`t get your truck legal

Unless your in a state with no inspection or it is for non highway use.
