Heck yeah, it was good to be out!
My buddy had one too, after nearly 30 years we’re still friends, but one night- we all went camping and drinking, I pissed on his truck’s wheel and he wanted to fight for real. We still laugh about that today!

Not in those days. Mazda joined with Ford in 96 I believe. My b2200 was actually made in Japan.

    Ford Escape=mazda tribute
    Ford ranger=mazda b series
    Ford Fusion=mazda 6

    Hahaha!

Oh man, we had lots of fun in that thing. I’m surprised I never got caught doing some stupid shit while intoxicated haha. Like driving on side streets with bed full of drunken high school buddies. That thing barely moved with all that weight haha.

Not basically, it was. Just looked a bit different inside and outside. Mechanically, it was identical.

I started driving on a 99 durango with the 5.9 v8, 245 hp and 330 lb·ft of torque.... Needless to say things have done nothing but go down hill since then.

Buddy in highschool drove his dads R/T Durango and dodge R/T pickup. Holy fuck those things were quick, especially the pick up.

I bought a 79 Ford Courier in 1980, it was all Mazda. Was a little less than 80 horsepower, got 21 mpg full or empty. It was a pretty good little truck.

The gearing with the 6AT sucks for a 4 banger. I’m actually surprised at how well it holds 6th at 75 considering it’s only turning about 2k rpm. My biggest complaint is the huge jump between 4th and 5th. If 6th was where 5th is now, and 5th midway between, i would like it a great deal more. Have thought about new diff gears, but worry it will screw up 4th, my getting around town gear

Why do people complain that their automatic transmission shifts automatically?

I don't get it either. I mean we've know this for decades, that the automatic transmission will shift automatically (if in good working cond.) I have zero F'n desire to drive a manual, BUT I also get why people do- I imagine most of them have fully accepted they don't want to be held hostage by the GOV and MFG's programming, and would rather do it themselves.
