Transfer Case Breather?

    I am about to do the rear diff breather extension & noticed this tonite..
    Looked like a screened vent to the transfer case; living in south florida, high water is always a concern.

    Are you sure that's the breather? I have a 1999 and mine is vented up into he engine comparment, although not high enough, so I extended the line. I am in Fl also and I did this because Tropical Storm Fey dumped 3 feet of water on me back then...good luck
