It is. Initially the guy said 80, I laughed and said no thanks I'll just order it offline. He asked what I was going to pay and matched it. I don't see why people complain about spending the money for this fluid, when you change it once every 60k. Not a big cost imo.

I am planning on putting synthetic Mobil 1 75w90 in my front and rear, but was wanting to put the factory 75W LF oil in my TC. Looked around and evidently, it's not as common as I thought it was. Those I found were anywhere between $60-$80 a L. I finally scored one for myself though for $45 shipped. Now for my new washers to come in and I've got myself a fluid changing day.

Toyota does not license their fluids, but these all make the compatibility claim.

Was trying to buy 75w lf from my local dealer, but the guy on parts department said - they never use this oil. They use 75w80, but only conventional, ONLY non synthetic oil!!!
I was kind of shocked. So I don't know what to do. And I can't find 75w80 conventional... All stores around selling only synthetic. What do you guys think?

Anyone that used the red line mt-lv please post your results? Any problems. I’ve been using the Toyota fluid for last 2 changes. But am considering the redline option next time around. The appears to be a new release for them And says on bottle equivalent to Toyota LF. I’ve used the redline 75-85 in the diffs for my last Tacoma 2013 and now the 2016. Plug magnets have always been fairly clean and I tow a lot! Current 3rd gen 2016 is approaching 120,000 miles with half that towing and all I’ve used in diffs is the redline 75-85 and the inside of the rear diff looks like breaks new when I inspected it last with my borescope. So I’m curious how the mt-lv is working out for people in the transfer cases. Please post your results. I know. $80 is not bad for the liter of lf as it only changes every 60k. But $20 is better than $80 and the redline has worked so well in the diffs it seems it would be just as good, if not better in the transfer case long term. I usually try to get 250k out of my Tacoma’s. Current one is ta one #7. Been driving them ever since I started driving 36 years ago.

@crashdb you doing the mt-lv, right?

I did the ravenol at 36k in the T-case, and redline 75w90 in front and rear.

Now that the MT LV is Toyota LF equivalent I might consider it. Also am considering going to 85w140 non synthetic in the diff if only for the front due to ECGS clam shell bushing and that being their recommended gear oil.

I think the only situation where 75-90 would be a problem is cold weather. Probably have issues getting it to engage in sub-zero temps.

It is very recent. I asked them at one point and they said it wasn't compatible. A few months later another person asked, they said it was and updated the website. Same person from RL answered both messages.

Redline has been very good for me in a few transmissions.
