    It has been running perfectly fine, I'm actually getting ready to redo the pumpkins and t-case (will be using redline for T-case and Lucas for the pumpkins, which I did during the last go-round).

    I had no issues with the ravenol, I think the ravenol was either unavailable/where you could find it the $ wasn't worth it...

    Just ordered the Ravenol kit. Paid $163 with free shipping. Used Amazon pay. Grabbed the transmission (4), washers, (1) gal. of antifreeze and a OEM filter from the local yota dealer. That came out to $ 73 clams. Not too shabby.

    who is using the ravenol fluid, in their transmissions? any reports at this time? seems like a decent synthetic fluid. Ski

    Changed my T-case fluid at 100k km's, come out looking damn near new. With how clean it stays and how infrequently it can arguably done, there's no reason to not swing by the dealer and get a can if you can't get the Ravenol on the cheap.

    Ravenol states the MTF3 is the equivalent for Toyota 08885-81081, the DTF is not an equivalent.

    i posted a link to the mtf3, 75w t case fluid, and a link to the 75w85 dgl differential fluid with the mtf3 t case fluid as a kit. I dont understand where you got DTF from my links? when you type in your year and model on blauparts website, it shows you what they have available for your vehicle. Ski

    i went to ravenol's website and it was pretty confusing. they don't tell you what fluid to use with your vehicle. now i know we use MTF3

    Go to Blaupart, enter the year, make, model and it will bring up you fluids. FedEx bro just handed me my box. Like I mentioned I paid $163 with free shipping.

    There always seems to be a lot of confusion (and debate) over 75W T-case fluid. All I know is Toyota has spec'd this fluid for cold weather performance and for proper syncro operation. Many owners use a GL5 fluid, which is allegedly not good for the "yellow" metals in there but never have a problem.
    So I remain confused and just buy what is spec'd for the gear box. o_O

    There are a couple of 75 w LV GL-1/2/3/4 fluids in addition to the Ravenol;
    Redline MT-LV 70/75W
    Eurol 75W GL-4
    Liquid Moly MTF 5100 75W

    I used the Redline MT-LV 40,000 and 3 years ago in my transfer case. Seems fine still.

    Don't overthink this. Order the 1L can of OE fluid from the dealer. $ is what it is... Better off spending your "creative / problem solving / tinkering" time and efforts on something else; like paint protection, corrosion prevention etc.

    Sorry, guess I didn't communicate that correctly. I was trying to say there are better things to spend time and effort on like paint protection and corrosion prevention (vs alternate transfer case lubricants). imo the factory fill is just fine and even at ~$80 every 60k is reasonable.
