other day was screwing around doing 4wd launches in the rain (loving the new 5 speed lol) and now my t-case is screwed up. Won't go into 4 wheel drive, feels like a bent or broken shift fork. So my question is how hard is it to split these open? And I also have my old transfer case from my auto, so would it bolt up and work? It looks different externally but not sure if it would bolt up to the w59, it's behind an a340f right now

    A340F I believe has a different bolt-up than the 5 speed.

Did you check the linkage? Always try simple things first.

No linkage, shifter on top of the case. And yeah it's fine, the problem is there's no movement in the case going from 2h to 4h. No engagement, no resistance in the shifter. Me and a 20 year Toyota tech looked at it for like an hour and he said something about a detent coming out or the shift fork being bent/broke

Only way to know if it's the detent is to put the truck on jack stands and place the T-case in 4 high and see if all 4 tires rotate when you place the truck in a gear. If it doesn't I'd say you have internal issues. Bent fork or damaged sliding collar.

Yeah there's nothing at the transfer case. No 4wd light, no add in the front. Frknt driveshaft doesn't lock to the case at all, 4h or 4l I have no 4wd

Yep, got it apart and fixed. When I drained the oil from it a roll pin dropped out into my drain pan, at that point I knew exactly what the problem was. Just as I expected, once I got it apart I could see the 4 high shift fork not pinned to the shaft anymore. Just sliding back and forth on it. Spread that roll pin apart, the. Punched it back into its spot and I have 4wd again. Now I have another question though, as this transfer case did this before the whole 4wd problem. When shifting from 2h to 4h while moving it doesn't go, just grinds violently. When I had the auto I. This truck I could shift into 4wd at any speed but it seems with his one I can't even tho my little sun visor label says with a manual trans you can shift into 4h while moving
