Hi Folks - Having not returned a clear write-up / video from my search, hoping there's some expertise to help! I have a leak in my transfer case due to an issue with the seal as it appears has happened to many forum members. My shop has quoted an (to me) astronomical $700 to replace the seals with most of that being labor.

I know there are several write-ups on fluid exchange / gasket replacement, but how involved is the seal replacement? I'd prefer to do it myself but will also recognize my limits :)

Depends where it is leaking from. Output shaft seals or the marriage to the trans. Quote calls out WS which is transmission fluid. T-Case uses 75W LF. I would assume it is leaking between the trans and case which would involve removing the case, cleaning both mating surfaces, installing new gasket, reinstalling case, then servicing trans. Labor isn't too bad for a shop.
