I have an 05 Tacoma. 4 wheel high works. 4 low does not. It won't engage and only beeps. I assume the problem is in my transfer case since the accuator in the front diff engages for 4 high. Can you change the accuator in the transfer case or do I need to replace the whole thing. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Are you in neutral when you attempt to engage 4low? Follow the instructions on your sun visor.

Yes sir. I have tried neutral in gear in reverse with engine off at complete stop while slow rolling. I have tried it every way and have had no luck. I used it the day I bought it and it has never worked since. Go figure. Lol

Try it while slow rolling in neutral while turning? Sometimes turning the wheels helps kick it in.

I will try it but what do you think the problem is. I hate to be in a bind and not be able to roll at all to engage it.

Turning the wheel should help with both 4hi and 4lo. If that won't solve your problem, you may have a stuck solenoid, chewed wires, or a mechanical problem within the t-case. Hopefully someone with some hands-on experience pipes in, cause all the times my 4wd has been stubborn it's always come around with a little steering wheel persuasion.
