Does anyone know how @OVTune handles transferring of license (for a fee?) to a new vehicle? Selling my 2018 manual Tacoma and buying a 2020 automatic (long story). I'm wondering if I should reset the 2018 to factory and if it's possible to use my manual flash kit on the 2020 automatic and use my existing license or if I'll need to purchase a whole new kit for the auto. I've emailed OV three times but never get a response.

Welcome to the forum, I’d be patient for a little while as OV is smack in the middle of his 2.0 update.

It does suck being stuck on the stock tune. I would flash your old truck back to stock.

@Shellshock and @MOC221_ have done this in the past. I'm sure they can help.

I do know that your existing license won't work on other VINs.

Yes clearly the OV crew is busy with the new updates. From their faq page: "CAN IT BE USED ON MULTIPLE VEHICLES?
The kit can be used on multiple vehicles, however each vehicle must be individually licensed to use the software. Contact us for details." Reflashing it to stock I assume will be just as busy as flashing it in the first place. Thanks for the replies.

Reflashing to Stock is all on you. Just download the Stock tune from FM. No need to coordinate with OVT on that.

And, peeps sending in multiple tickets for the same questions.

In the end as bad as the Dev thread is, the FB comments and issues are 100x worse.

Sure I am lol I just had an auto and got rid of it before tuning and gears were an option

OVTUNE came around a few months after I got my MT. A lot of us hopped on the holiday sale in the fall.

@ottomattox just shoot ovtune an email. I emailed them my system id info Tuesday (3/10) and the next morning I had a reg key sitting in my inbox.

Curious what the outcome was on this. Might be pulling the trigger in trading in my 16 for a 20 shortly. PM me if you prefer not to share details publicly
