Just got it done! Big thanks to wyant! Had to be the clearest instructions I've seen. If I could add anything, toggle fairly quickly between N and D to start the check. I had to try 3 times before I got it. Also a little surprised how long it drains before it started dripping. Took around 4 to 5 minutes. But my son was watching the dash the whole time and the D never started blinking. For me, it was a 1/4 quart low. Not much, thats probably why it shifts pretty good, and better by the day. My truck has 800 mi. on it and has the tow package. Made in baja on april 22. If your on the fence about doing it yourself. Do it! Then you'll know it was done right. Thanks again to everyone who gave input.

When I did my transmission check with the pin 4 and 13 jump. I also used a temp gun, right at 95 degrees the D come on the dash. The warm up time is a little long. You will have plenty of time to added fluid in need to before it hit 113.

I had the exact same experience, 1/4 qt low and about 5 minutes to get it to drip. I think it takes some time for the fluid to work through the components from the time it is pumped, the service instructions say to pump slowly to prevent it from splashing. The dealer did claim they checked the fluid and was low before I took delivery... I just had to be sure. Build date was April 12 in Baja.

So you were pumping in fluid as you were performing the test? I don't understand what you mean by it took 5 minutes for fluid to drip.

Its drizzels out for about 4 to 5 minutes after you pump for a while. Its like your pumping for a minute and nothing is coming out, and all of the sudden its coming out in a slow thin stream. Instructions say wait until it goes from a stream to a fast drip. Then put the check plug back in. You're now done.
