    Hello fam!
    I got a 99 sr5 5VZFE w/ a r150 tranny. It gots 160,000 miles on it
I’m wanting the opinions and experiences in see what am I getting myself into when needing to get this repaired.
I’m having a whining noise and slight vibration when accelerating after going into 1st, 2nd, and sometimes 3rd gear when fluid is warm. As well as resistance while driving. I barely drive it but at times it’ll be okay then the issues will come back. What do I expect in this situation?

Not the worst thing in the world:
    Drop trans
Take trans to shop for rebuild
    Install new clutch
    Install trans

I just did clutch on my 02 with a hair under 300k in about half a day with a trans jack. The biggest pain is the two upper bellhousing bolts to the engine. It was "as bad" as I remember doing my 99 over 20 years ago without trans jack:rofl:

Might not be your transmission… slide under the truck and look at you carrier bearing. It is supported by a rubber suspension piece. When it was brand new the carrier bearing is centered in the housing as it ages gravity lowers it… this would be a good time to grease the driveshaft too.
