    Maybe, just maybe your 2014 is a Special Taco.
    Outlet hose gets attached to top tube (X tubing) going to the exterior cooler.

    Red from transmission to radiator cooler
    Orange from radiator cooler to external cooler to X tube (bottom), from x tube to external radiator, etc. etc.

    I think Caribe's illustration shows all you need to know about this - so long as you are just connecting to the two hard points coming through the radiator support. Toyota obviously attached both of the auxiliary cooler jumpers to the bottom of the little tow package unit - no worries about a bubble in their eyes. They even changed the factory parts to that use that design.

    I double checked my routing, just for reference, and fluid fills from the bottom and exits from the top, as recommended (both barbs exiting to the right side of the cooler).

    Pretty sure any quality cooler will show recommended orientations as well.
