I just installed a Tru-Cool LPD trans cooler on my 2012 Tacoma. It is a model 4454. I copied another users install method. It was pretty ez. After removing the front grill it's ez to mount it. Check out the pic's.
I prefilled the hoses and trans cooler with new fluid, that way you don't have to fill it from the trans filler bolt. My first test, with out towing anything my temps were 114 at 60 mph, outside temp was 70. I will do further tests towing my 27 foot camper. I used 1" alum flat stock, you can use 3exsisting holes. Then I drilled 1 new hole to mount the flat stock to the truck, then mounted the cooler to the stock. The pic shows the lines capped off, not to let the fluid pour out. I then tapped the new lines in series with the factory towing kit cooler.
