Shit. My engine oil dipstick is fake. It doesn’t even come out. I thought @oneshort was faking it. That shit is locked in.

No need for a dipstick anymore. Roll the truck on it's roof. If fluid leaks out, then it's fine. Roll it back over and keep driving!

The thing to keep in mind, is the transmission is a disposable part in 2020. If it grenades they bolt on a new one. The number of seal failures, requiring you to add oil, is much less than the number of Jabronis who are going to overfill the tranny, or pour the wrong shit down the tube because they think it’s low.

Toyota is hedging their bets that they have good tranny seals, and you are likely an idiot.

FWIW, the F150 has no tranny dipstick either, and that’s the most numerous vehicle on the road.

No trans stick on v6's since 2005

2nd gen 2.7's had trans dipsticks, IIRC they do not on 3rd gens (trans type change)

That would be an awesome aftermarket item for the truly creative.

Are you kidding me..?? What if you get a truck like me and the tranny does not feel right, slips, etc.? Dealer would NOT check the fluid other than say the "puter" says it's good...….

Well I checked it properly and it was 1 1/2 liters low, like I had imagined.... I'm freaking 71 1/2 and have driven long enough to know when the tranny is acting up..

The truck has run perfect since and is coming up to the time for D&F.....

Annoying to lose the stick but my tranny will not be left to explode on it's own....

if i ever check mine i will take out the fill plug, if fluid starts to seep out then screw it back in and good to go. if nothing comes out then add until it is full and good to go. a few ounces over will not hurt it. i would do the above with the engine at 1/4 hot.

I was talking about the engine oil check for BMWs without a dip stick.

The 3rd Gen AT check is not bad at all.

Case and point. There is a means of verifying fill level for anomalous events such as this, but this is an exception to the norm and making decisions for an exception is poor business practice.

Sealed transmissions don’t need regular inspections from a stick, you just check for leaks. If maintained well the fluid can last the life of the vehicle or if necessary change it.

Pretty sure there is no way a 2011 had a stick. Exact same engine/trans. A buddy just bought a 2015. No Stick.

    Fun fact:
There are 82 less parts in a AC60 than there is in an A750.

Thought I'd put something new in here, since it's all the s.o.s.

For the auto transmission? On a v6?
