Hi, when I got out of work I noticed a puddle under my truck, the fill tube/ dipstick tube is cracked right before the pan. I cleaned it up w/ brake cleaner and wrapped in rubber elec splicing tape followed with vinyl elec tape for now. I looked around and can’t seem to find a replacement tube, I know it’s two piece but don’t know if the lower half is replaceable or if I need another pan which I imagine the scrapyard would not want to part with separate of the tranny. Any suggestions appreciated

Looking at the diagram, it looks like the lower part of the tube is sold as part of the pan. If I'm not able to source the part cheap and/or used I'd be fixing it with some epoxy or something. Is it right where the tube meets the pan that's cracked or leaking?

    4 run, 2 don't
Lower part of the tube and pan are 1 piece.

Upper part of the tube is held in by 1 bolt and once undone, easily slides up and out.

Make sure you get about 8qts of Toyota ATF as well as a transmission pan gasket and transmission filter. Count the number of bolts on the pan to make sure you get the right gasket.

May as well knock out the maintenance associated with the disassembly your job requires.

It’s locating a pan... I imagine if I remove it I could braze it up or something....

Right before the elbow... it’s not like it’s pressurized but it’s beneath the oil level so naturally it’s gonna leak ... so far the tape is holding :anonymous:

Next tranny drain and fill, while fluid is out, clean up the break/crack area, let it dry, and flex seal or something like it should work. As you mention, not pressurized there. Good sign that it stopped leaking too so far. Should be able to fix that cheap
