    Hi Tacoma community,

I recently purchased my first Tacoma, and did all the routine services, including changing my automatic transmission fluid.

After the fluid change, I tried to put the dipstick back into the dipstick tube, but it was almost impossible to get back in, it would get jammed every few inches.

Is that a common problem or just my truck? Any tips or comment is appreciated.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
The way the dip stick snakes in the tube, it binds up. You just have to pull it out and try again till you find the way it goes in right. Common problem.

Put a slight bend in the dipstick at 3 inches from the bottom of the stick . This will allow it to get past the valve body where they get hung up and also makes it easier to check the fluid . You will notice more oil on both sides of the stick when performing a level check . I do this for customers on every transmission I overhaul
