I’d call them and have it towed to them. I’d be very surprised if they didn’t own up to the issue and fix the problem for you. Most places have some type of short term warrant that you’d be covered from. Businesses thrive on taking care of their clients. I’d give them the benefit of the doubt until you have a reason not to. It may be as simple as the known fuel pump recall issue. Be positive, be polite, and be respectful and you may be surprised on what good fortune comes your way.

Factory Bumper to bumper is 3 years, 36k miles, and the power train is 5 years 60k miles I believe so depending on how many miles and what month it was purchased, it could still be under factory warrenty at least.

To me it sounds like possibly low transmission fluid and the transmission was cooked. Not sure if that would fall under the warranty or not, and I also dont know if the factory is transferable purchased used, but I believe it would be.

I think that it would transfer to the new owner. If it's a transmission issue power train coverage should take care of it as long as they don't try to say it was from abuse or poor maintenance. Those would be hard to prove if he didn't put many miles on it.

I remember the CPS issue as well . Happened to a bunch of 2016 trucks with the same symptoms the OP is having .
Everybody thought their transmissions grenaded .
There were at least 40 threads on the subject until Toyota released an updated CPS in a recall
    32,000 trucks were effected

That was the first thing that crossed my mind as l remember all the Threads too, hoping it was something simple like that for the OP.

Yea sorry, had been busy. But who ever had posted the recall list for the fuel pumps is the bread winner. Made sense because when the truck was starting to act funny Rpms were lying low. Thanks for your patience guys
